TLS Security Upgrade

PCI SSC Has Mandated a Security Upgrade

Keeping sensitive data secure is continuously at the forefront of the payments industry. The Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) has mandated a security upgrade.Prior to February 15th, 2018, all merchants using terminals or software processing over the internet need to upgrade to the most current version of TLS (Version 1.2).

What is TLS?
Transport Layer Security (TLS) is a cryptographic protocol used to establish a secure communication between two systems. Recently, multiple vulnerabilities have been uncovered.

How Does This Impact Me?
To prevent disruptions to your payment processing, it is imperative you make the update and work with your POS or terminal software provider to determine if new equipment or software is needed. To avoid any down time and be compliant, please communicate with your vendor(s) prior to February 15th, 2018, or as soon as possible.
